This morning I received candy, lots of candies!!!!

The first box of goodies came in this morning! Tammie had written me on Saturday (the 26th) to check my mail and could barely believe it this morning when I saw the mailman with this box. That was fast!

As Tammie nicely wrote: “goodies included both fond childhood memories and mid-life crisis savers”. So true. It felt like Christmas morning or something. The smell and seeing all these goodies was so exciting!

Here’s the content of said box:

Can you smell it? This is one of those occasions where smell-o-rama would be so good to have!

Looking at those things brought back so many memories… I used to love those candy necklaces, the sensation of the Pop Rocks popping on my tongue, and playing with a favourite Pez head… I’m also discovering new things, like “Sugar Babies”, “Boston Baked Beans” ,“Charleston Chew” and “Bit-O-Honey”. This is so much fun!

Thank you Tammie for everything, which was A LOT, too much to be honest!! Looking at these is yet another proof that we do have lots in common and what better way to find that out than through sweets!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Blueberry pie

Anybody who knows me, even a little, knows that I’m a girlie girl when it comes to jewellery. I change my earrings daily! I don’t get the cheapest one around, and I don’t get the most expensive either. I like fine things!

Last week I went on Etsy and looked around some shops. I saw lots of beautiful stuffs, some really funky and some I just clicked away. I ordered a pair of earrings. I figured I would try ordering something and see how it goes.

This morning when I fetched my mail there was a little package for me. My earrings had arrived. I opened the box and was really pleased with what I saw. I put them on immediately. There was also another box and a note from the artist who made the earrings. She actually sent me an extra piece, a gorgeous pendant, to match the earrings. I was stun. I could not believe it, and still can't. It’s not something I would have ordered myself, thinking it wasn’t my style or something along those lines, but when I saw it and put it on, I was really happy. She made my day!

I was also really touched. This stranger did something nice for no other reason than being nice; talk about that among yourselves! I still can not believe the generosity this person has shown me. It might have been a little gesture on her part, but for me it represented a lot more. When Hubby got home I showed him the earrings, and told him about the note and pendant. He liked them both and simply said “Mph… there’s still good people out there”.

Thank you for doing this. I greatly appreciate it. You’ve touched me with your kindness, and that doesn’t happen often. You really made my day. I deeply thank you.

Chicken Pot Pie spelled Comfort Food

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was good. We saw some friends we had not spend quality time with in many years, so it was nice to catch up with them. Isn’t it interesting how, with some people, no matter how long it’s been you can always catch up with as if time didn’t matter? I am truly pleased about our visit with them. Good food, good friends sure add up to good time in my books.

Did some shopping, for “Food Surrender” and as I was looking around for some things, I realised that some things I always saw on shelves here were not actually “from here”, but from the States. We get a lot of stuff from down there. Unreal! But then again I also realised (as did Purple Pigeon) that even if an item is called the same it will differ from country to country. It may not be a big difference, but there will be something. Just in the disposition of the ingredients, or the colours on the packaging, subtle yet different.

Now, regarding this “Food Surrender” thing, since most of you asked questions, I’ll try to answer them best I can.
First and foremost, we should all remember that this is for fun, and to please this shrewd player as Brave Astronaut wrote me. I will also do my best to please you with what I’ll be sending you, taking into consideration food allergies, likes and dislikes (if you’ve told me), but at the same time, I want you guys to discover the junk we have here! There are NO rules as such, only to share the joy of food!

- Import Taxes: In order to avoid, at all cost, your recipient (i.e. me!) to get charged ANY taxes, please fill out the postal/custom document on which you itemized the content, to be a GIFT, with NO Declared Value. Remember, Lizgwiz, no value! ;-)

- Quantity: No need to send boxes or pounds of stuff. A few selected samples will be good. Remember this is for fun. The heavier the box, the pricier it will be!

- Items: My idea was for snack foods, i.e. chocolate (candy bars), chips, cookies, crackers, lollies, hard and soft candies, etc. My only concern with sending “fresh” is the transport. For a box to reach WI from Montreal takes about 10 days. For something to reach England for example, from here, can take up to a month! Think of that when you’ll be packing your box. By the way, all items should be wrapped (candy wrapper), for hygienic purpose alone.

- Price: Nobody should break the bank for this ( I might though, because I’ll be sending more than one parcel, but I'll get all the goods MWAAHAHAHAHA!). Remember, $20 limit including shipping should be ample.

- Taste: As far as I’m concern, my only true dislike is white chocolate. The rest I’m pretty much willing to try anything (once!). My only (known) allergy is ginger. (and morphine, but I don’t think I’ll be getting a spiked snack… at least I hope not!)

- Suggestions : I discovered Trader Joe’s last September, while in Vegas, and loved it. I loved how they cover almost anything in chocolate! I’ve been craving for “Chocolate Covered Edamame (soy beans)” they were so good! I much prefer dark chocolate to milk one. I do enjoy sweet and sour candies. I like spicy food in general, and peanut butter. I’m not a real fan of dried fruits (just like that), and do love mint! Can I be more general than that?! Hee. I said it before “I enjoy food!”

I think this covers it all, or at least a good chunk of it. We should all keep in mind, besides the fact that we’re getting goodies, that we should send stuff that we enjoy and think the other person might as well. That’s all. Just put a little love in that box before you seal it, ok? I will! ;-)

Eye Candy

Thought some Batman fans might enjoy this!

I know I did!

Your Friday Spinach!

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand pulling a male buffalo with the other. He says to the waiter: 'Want coffee.'

The waiter says, 'Sure, Chief. Coming right up.' He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.
The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun, causing parts of the animal to splatter everywhere and then just walks out.

The next morning the Indian returns. He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling another male buffalo with the other. He walks up to the counter and says to the waiter: 'Want coffee.'

The waiter says: 'Whoa, Tonto! We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday. What was all that about, anyway?'

The Indian smiles and proudly says: 'Training for position in Canadian Parliament: Come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull, leave mess for others to clean up, disappear for rest of day.

My husband and I were watching "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" while we were in bed.

He turned to me and said, 'Do you want to have sex?'

'No!' I answered.

He then said, 'Is that your final answer?'

'Yes!' I replied.

Then he said, 'I'd like to phone a friend.'

I'm told that's the last thing he remembers.

Have a great weekend everyone!

High Sugar Level

Well, looks like it's official. I have fourteen* of you (so far!) willing to partake in my "Food Surrender" - Woohoo!

I'm so excited! I know it will be fun and most of all good! Hee.

I even made a seal for it, ain't it puuurdy? If you'd like to use it and promote your own "event" go for it!

I think we should not go too crazy, and limit ourselves. What do you think of a $20. limit (including shipping)? I think it's fair, because after all some candy bars can be heavy... ;-)

What about a dead line? Should we have one? Knowing myself I'll get on this really fast, I'm no procrastinator when it comes to food. Any suggestion?

I will contact each one of you, individually, and will "reveal" my name and address (oh no! you'll know my true identity and where I live)... so that if you really want to you can stalk me. Hee.

But then, you'll have to share the same, so... I guess this is also a trusting game.

This is all about making each other discover & enjoy different snacks. It doesn't have to be chocolate, it could be cookies, candies, lollies, nuts, gums or whatever else you can think of that can easily be shipped.

I know some of you have kids, so at worst if you don't enjoy what I've sent, your kids might!

Is there anybody allergic to nuts or something else, if so, please let me know. I wouldn't want to lose a blend to food poisoning or such. If you know of something that "we" have up here, and would like some, let me know, who knows I might feel like pleasing you that day...

So, this is it for now, if you have any question or concern, just let me know in the comments.

All Canadian Buffet including toffee, chocolate, etc.

July is almost over and in case you haven’t noticed, so far this month all my posts were food related (as well as Marius’ who played along, thanks Marius!). A little while back I thought of something and figured people wouldn’t be interested, so I didn’t mention it.

Last week, I saw this meme on Brave Astronaut’s blog where one question was about his favourite candy bar. He also had a link to a little test, where you were asked if you could recognize a candy bar by seeing its middle. I did the test, thinking I knew my candy bars, to only realised that I knew Canadian candy bars. So, it got me back to this idea I had.

Also, last week a bunch of bloggers participated in “Blog share” where bloggers post anonymously on a fellow blogger’s blog. I’ve read a few (there were too many for me to read all) and it brought back that idea of mine (no Marius, this has nothing to do with what has been brewing, just so you know, in case you’re wondering).

Here’s goes: We all have favourite snacks or treats from our childhood or current that we just love and often they are very “local”. Since I’m curious about food in general I thought we could do the opposite of a “food fight”: let’s do “food surrender”! We could send each other any snacks, sweets and candy bars you guys enjoy, your local treats and “exchange” or “swap” with what we people “up here, North of the Border” have. I’ve referred to “Whippet” in a title not long ago, and was asked was it was. No it wasn’t the dog, but delicious cookies!

I’m thinking it could be a fun tasting experiment. What do you think? Would you be willing to participate in this "Food Surrender"of mine?

Brewing Tea...

Does tea count in the food title thing, or it's really more just a beverage?

I’ve been brewing a post for the last few days, because of something I’ve been reading around Blogsville. It touched me and at the same time pissed me off, but I don’t really know how to deal with it, so I’m letting it brew… I think I’m starting to get wiser in my old…er age.

I’ve found out today that there will be fireworks (again) on Wednesday night. This time it will Canada. I just might have to go to see what we’ll show. I’m wondering if they’re starting the Wednesday night this week, because it is, after all, the “construction holidays” (yep, all construction workers go away for two weeks, as well as a boat load of other people, because those two weeks are dead around here)? This means that Wednesday night we must be home before 7:30 pm otherwise it has to be after midnight. On a weeknight that’s a bit late to come home. It’s fun and all the fireworks, but for those of us living near the Old Montréal it’s not that practical because they close all streets leading to Jacques-Cartier Bridge (one of the main bridge leading to the South Shore of Montréal), as well as the Ville-Marie Tunnel, AND our street, because we are one of the last one leading to Old Montréal. Oh joy! In a way it’s a good thing it’s on now, since many people left town, so hopefully less cars around for the fireworks. Yeah, let’s go with that!

Today I was working at a client, or so I thought. I got there, booted the pc and waited. Did some copies, sort through my papers, and waited some more. I waited 25 minutes, before the screen to log on the software came up. This is the second time I go to this client, and leave within the hour. I can’t work like this. I packed up all their documents, turned off the pc, told the manager I was going home, where my pc was faster and working properly. I came home, changed to my shorts and worked away. Tomorrow I’ll bring them back everything. Tonight, Hubby and I agreed that from now on, I would bring my laptop to this client, because they obviously can’t supply me with a decent computer. The only thing I’m not to excited about, besides having to carry my laptop around, is the fact that another one of my client doesn’t run the same version of the software (they’re a few version back), and I use my laptop to do, but if I start bringing it to this other client, then I must be up to date… I can’t run two different versions of the same software on my laptop (I know I could, Hubby, but I’m not converting to Linux!). So I’ll have to update my other client, and they won’t be too happy about that. Oh well. Somebody has to be upset, rather them than me! Hee.

I’m leaving you with this summer shot…

Sort of give a new meaning to the terms:

Low Rider,
High Tide, and
Full Moon!
Not to mention: Crack Kills!

Very Berry Sweet

I just love this time of year! Not only is it hot, humid and sticky, but the earth is giving us its best! I love going to the market and see mountains of fresh veggies, fruits, flowers, name it, it’s there!

We’re having a great summer for strawberries, there are so many, and there’s nothing like biting into a big, sweet strawberry that has been in the sun all day! I just love it!

Right now raspberries are getting just ripe and boy are they sweet & just tart enough. Those are one of my favourites field berries. I could do without their seeds, but then again, that’s part of it. I love to bite into a seed long after I’m done with the fruits as such, it just brings back enough tartness to remind me of how good those berries were. We went to the market today and bought a bunch of strawberries and raspberries, as well as some fresh sausages. Among our diverse selection we picked one made out of pork and raspberries. For dinner we had a selection of sausages: Inferno (really spicy), Port and White Pepper, and finally Chorizo. The best, in my taste, was the raspberry one; you could really taste the fruit. For dessert I’ve made a type of shortcake and mixed some strawberries & raspberries, just because I couldn’t decide which one I should use.

The smell in the house while it was baking was very nice and it tasted even better.

Earlier, Hubby made some margaritas. He was a bit generous on the tequila, as usual for his drinks. I wanted “Strawberry Margarita” so he threw in a bunch of fresh strawberries; it was delicious! I had two big glasses, and had to lie down for five to ten minutes, because everything was spinning. Good thing was, I couldn’t feel my back! What can I say, I’m a cheap date! Always have been, and probably always will be!

After dinner, I made my way to Notre-Dame to watch the fireworks. It was Australia’s turn. They were beautiful, the best so far this year, so many different patterns and colours, gorgeous and lit up the sky so nicely... I did manage to take a few shots.

On the last one you can see the "shadow" of the Jacques Cartier Bridge (closed for the occasion). It's hard to take a good shot of these suckers without a tripod, etc... but you still can get an idea, no?

I also took this one of the Clock Tower, in the Old Port, with the full moon, and the Montreal Casino in the back.
It was a beautiful night to end a very sweet day!

Your Friday Strudel

A blonde goes to her local pet store in search of an 'exotic' pet. As she looks about the store, she notices a box full of live frogs. The sign says:

'SEX FROGS'
Only $20 each!
Comes with 'complete' instructions.

The girl excitedly looks around to see if anybody's watching her. She whispers softly to the man behind the counter, 'I'll take one!'

As the man packages the frog, he quietly says to her, 'Just follow the instructions!'

The blonde nods, grabs the box, and is quickly on her way home.

As soon as she closes the door to her apartment, she opens the instructions an d reads them very carefully. She does EXACTLY what is specified:

1. Take a shower.
2. Splash on some nice perfume.
3. Slip into a very sexy nightie.
4. Crawl into bed and place the frog down beside you, and allow the frog to do what he has been trained to do.

She then quickly gets into bed with the frog and to her surprise . . NOTHING happens! The blonde is very disappointed and quite upset at this point. She re-reads the instructions and notices at the bottom of the paper it says, 'If you have any problems or questions, please call the pet store.'

So, she calls the pet store. The man says, 'I'll be right over.' Within minutes, the man is ringing her doorbell. The blonde welcomes him in and says, 'See, I've done everything according to the instructions. The damn frog just SITS there!'

The man . . . looking very concerned, picks up the frog, stares 'directly into its eyes' and STERNLY says:

'LISTEN TO ME!!
I'm only going to show you how to do this
ONE .. MORE ... TIME!!!'

An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and told her preacher she had two final requests. First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered over Wal-Mart.

'Wal-Mart?' the preacher exclaimed. 'Why Wal-Mart?'
'Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week.'

For some reason, I'm thinking there might be some truth to the last one...
Have a great weekend!

Hot & Sour Soup

The last few days were painful ones. I’m feeling better now, thanks to the magic of my osteo. Hubby drove me there yesterday morning, and even if the pain was already a bit less than on Monday, the treatment helped. By the time I walked out of there, I could already feel the difference.

I managed to slip a disk… It’s so stupid and embarrassing! It ‘s not doing anything kinky (I wish!), or lifting something heavy, nope… Supposedly it’s fairly common in people our age and often it’s even turns out to be a herniated disk. Hopefully I didn’t that much damage. I’ve been icing, which is a whole new experience! I’m used to icing my knee, I’ve been doing that years, but my back, not so much! I must say once frozen the pain is really less, and that’s worth the 15 minutes of discomfort.
Hubby, as usual, has been great through this. He’s so helpful and loving. At times, I don’t feel worthy. He’s such a good man. He’s been cooking, driving, shopping, setting me up for icing; I love him!

Last night he said something that made me think that he might be on to something… He said: “Looks like our muscles are stronger than your bones”. He’s right. A few years back I cracked a rib coughing. No joke, I had a bad cough (bronchitis) and managed to crack a rib during a coughing fit. I could hardly breath, not good when you’re coughing non-stop. I also broke both wrists, my big right toe, badly, in karate, which was my only broken bone, luckily enough. And now this…

Maybe I should get a density bone test soon… I think I’ll mention it to my quack next time I see him. If I’m like this now, I can only imagine how it will be when I’ll become that frail, old lady… yeah ok, let’s go with that…

Big Noodle 10

I don’t know about you but I’ve watched all previous nine seasons of Big Brother. It’s almost like my summer addiction… I enjoyed the first one, and then loved the second season… Dr. Will was the perfect player. After that things got a bit strange, but I kept watching since summer programming is what it is. I had asked Hubby to record the season premiere on Sunday. I don’t know if any of you are watching it (besides you Jane), but when I saw that 75 years old man among all those youngsters, I wondered what would happen… Between all the good-looking boys, and the big breasted women and a few odd balls, it makes for an interesting cast. I just watched the second show, and let’s just say that my evaluation wasn’t that far off… I might keep on watching because there’s not much else on, and because I’m curious (let’s be honest here!) about their silly dramas. It might very well be a waste of time, but it’s not like I had anything better to do tonight.

Actually, I did have something better to do, but couldn’t because last night I threw my back out. Don’t ask! Just know I’ve been in pain all day and will be seeing my osteo tomorrow morning. When it’s not one thing it’s another, isn’t it?

Weekend Fruit Salad

I’ve had a good weekend. Went to a birthday party on Saturday. Both Hubby and I were a bit apprehensive because we didn’t know the people who would be there, except for the birthday boy and his sister. Turned out to be a great evening. The location was really nice, right on Mont-Royal (mountain in the centre of Montréal), with a view on the lake that made it even more special, a nice breeze throughout the meal, the food was good and the people were fun. That’s always a winning combo!

We weren’t home for the fireworks, but did managed to get stuck in the tail end of traffic post-fireworks. Sunday, we did sweet nothing but laundry & watched movies. I love days like that. It was a dreary day, so we decided to stay home and enjoy each other’s company. It’s going to be yet another busy week coming, but it’s all good.

About you, how was your weekend? Do anything special?

Oh, by the way, tomorrow will be Paisley’s birthday; don’t forget to wish her a happy one!

SPANISH COMPUTER?

A Spanish Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.'
'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.'

A student asked, 'What gender is 'computer'?'

Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term! memory for possible later retrieval;
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

(THIS GETS BETTER!)

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ('el computador'), because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem;
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

The women won.

A blonde goes into the cleaners to drop off a blouse to be cleaned.

As she is leaving the man behind the counter says 'Come again'.

The blonde stops and says, ' No, it's mustard this time'.

Enjoy your weekend!

Sticky like caramel…

This food thing title is harder than I thought it would be, and we’re only the 8th… it’s going to be a rough month!

It’s been crazy hot & humid here. As I was walking around earlier I felt all gooey, it hate this much humidity! You do nothing and sweat buckets. Plus, in my case, you had to this some hot flashes, and you scream hot almost to the point of stopping, dropping and rolling!

Yesterday I did something that I TRULY hate. I so despise it. I’ve been avoiding it for a few years now, but I could no longer. I’ve tried considering other options, trying to find something on line, or just simply ignore it all together. But there’s this part of me who loves one thing, and for that to happen I need that thing I TRULY hate.

I’m talking about shopping for a bathing suit and swimming. Is there any worst feeling than to see proof that 1) you’re whiter than a slice of white bread; 2) you seriously need to do something about this weight thing; and 3) you also need a good wax job! Argh!

I’ve been lucky (I guess) since I didn’t have to buy a new suit for a few years, but last time I took my suit out I noticed that some part (in between the boobies) was disintegrating… no joke! I don’t know if it’s the chlorine or what, but I didn’t really any other choice, but to put my pride aside and go shopping for a friggin’ suit! Most shops around here are for the chicklets, not the round ol’ spring chickens… I knew of this shop, on the South Shore, that caters to full figure women. Yesterday I was at a client who happens to have moved right next door to that shop, so in I went. It’s an interesting concept, not cheap at all, but the service you get might be worth it. I’ve realised that I’m not “that” big… some of the women present were far more enveloped than I’ll ever be. I will not let myself get to that point, at least not for the next 20 years! Anyway, after trying at least 12 different models and discussing the options, I walked out with one, right of the rack “prêt à porter” – go figure! In every sense of that! Hee.

What a beautiful Sundae!

We started our day with a beautiful walk through Old Montreal making our way to a delicious breakfast. It’s a good thing the food was good, because the service sucked! I’ll spare you the details of all the delays in between the coffees, taking our order, getting it and getting refills… Let’s just say that for Hubby to leave a single dollar tip on a twenty-five dollar bill… the service was really bad!

I had brought our camera with us because I wanted to take similar shots to the ones I had done this past winter. So while at the restaurant I figured I would also take a few shots of our breakfast, even if it was more like 1 o'clock in the afternoon, by the time we ate!

Here's my coffee which is actually an expresso mixed with hot chocolate. Yummy!

Here’s what Hubby ordered which is a sandwich style bagel, made with Swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onions fried egg and black forest ham. Served with fries (normally it is with grilled potatoes).

Here’s mine! A bagel cut in half dipped in egg batter, cooked on the grill, topped with bananas and strawberries. Served with yogurt and honey.

After having our tummies really filled, we walked back home. Along the way I took a few more shots. Isn’t it incredible what a difference a few months make? Check here to see the “winter” version (second picture).

I couldn’t get the exact same angle because of the leaves in the trees...but you get the idea, no?

There were so many people walking around it felt like we were on vacation or something. I love Old Montréal in the summer; it is so alive!

We finished this beautiful day with a delicious meal on our deck, by candle light... Life is good!

Feeling like a Whippet...

Bloggers sucks! You all know that already, right? Why am I saying this now? I knew I wasn’t going to be around on Friday, because we had the funerals, and we had to be on the road early, so I prepared my Friday Smile on Thursday night and use that new feature of changing the date and it would post automagically. I was wrong! I was catching with a few blogs when I noticed on one of them that I wasn’t showing up, so I clicked on my blog to see that Blogger’s friggin’ option didn’t work! It is now 7:12pm on Saturday and I just published my Friday Smile! Argh!

I so wish I was more computer savvy and would be able to set myself up on our domain name. I need Hubby to do that, and he’s been too busy with other things for me to ask him for that. There are changed I’d like to make to my blog; I’d love for it to have 3 columns, scroll boxes instead of lists, maybe even change the whole look of it… all in due times I guess.

Since yesterday I’ve been thinking about death and how much Hubby’s uncle loved his wife. I feel for this poor man. He could barely say her name without crying. He will be facing some rough times ahead, that’s for sure. As we drove home, I started thinking of the things he had said during her eulogy and couldn’t help but wondered what my friends would say about me. I say friends since I don’t have any brother nor sister. Yes I have many cousins, but none that I would consider that close to want to say something at my funerals. I always thought it was a nice gesture when people stood up to say something about the deceased. It’s not something customary for us, that’s for sure. I did it at my father’s service, because I wanted to “set the record straight” for some people. A few years back, a friend of mine died in a motorcycle accident and his sister asked me to write something about their brother and a friend read it. I actually wrote a few of those for other people. Then last year Hubby did his mom’s. It was nice and honest.

Hearing the uncle talking about his wife and how she taught him to love was moving. Her sister paid her a nice tribute as well. There weren’t many dried eyes in the room. It got me thinking. What would I like to hear people say about me? What character traits of mine are touching people, if any? I can only imagine a friend standing up to say “She was a real bitch in every sense of the world. You would always know where you stood with her, she wasn’t there to spare your feelings that’s for sure.” I know I’m a tough cookie, and in a way I do take pride in that. But I also know that I don’t want people thinking of me as a heartless bitch. There is more to me than my hard shell. Can people see that? Can you see pass the rough exterior, the crude jokes and the “don’t give a f*ck” attitude? Can you see that deep down, I’m just a girl wanting to love and help and wanting to feel that way as well? I wonder sometimes…

Your Fricassé Smile!

Little Johnny's neighbor had a baby. Unfortunately, the baby was born without ears.

When mother and new baby came home from the hospital, Johnny's family was invited over to see the baby. Before they left their house, Little Johnny's dad had a talk with him and explained that the baby had no ears.

His dad also told him that if he so much as mentioned anything about the baby's missing ears, or even said the word ears, he would get the smacking of his life when they came back home.

Little Johnny told his dad he understood completely. When Johnny looked in the crib he said, "What a beautiful baby!"

The mother said, "Why, thank you, Little Johnny."
Johnny said, "He has beautiful little feet and beautiful little hands, a cute little nose and really beautiful eyes. Can he see?"

"Yes", the mother replied, "we are so thankful; the Doctor said he will have 20/20 vision."

"That's great", said Little Johnny,"cuz he'd be fucked if he needed glasses".
