Hi! My name is Stinkypaw and I’m an addict! That’s right. I’m a TV addict. I admit it. I have no problem crashing in front of the tube for hours, without any guilt whatsoever. I know it’s sad, but it can also be very entertaining!
Last year (or the one before I’m confused about the timeline), when some shows that we watched, like "Alias", "Will & Grace", "Charmed" came off the air I thought we would watch a little less television. I was wrong.
This past weekend we’ve watched 11 episodes of “Heroes”, one after the other. If you haven’t watched that show you’re missing something different. It keeps you coming back for more. It just twisted enough with a note of humour, it could almost be spiritual… In it are some new actors as well as some familiar faces like Claire the Cheerleader (played by Hayden Panettiere, who once was Maddie, "Ali McBeal’s" daughter), or Peter the nurse (played by Milo Ventimiglia, who was Jess on "Gilmore Girls’"), or the policeman Matt (played by Greg Grunberg, who used to be Eric Weiss on "Alias"). At first it was a bit strange for me to see some people that I liked so much on other shows playing these “heroes”, and yet… I'm loving it!
In November we also started watching “Supernatural” – we did a blitz for Season 1. I like shows that have a little X-Files feel to them. I find that “Supernatural” has also a little touch of “Charmed” and maybe some “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” (which I used to watched) as well as “Angel”.
So, I’m a TV junkie – here’s a list of my weekly hits:
- 24
- Bones
- Boston Legal
- Brothers & Sisters
- CSI (Vegas & Miami)
- Desperate Housewives
- ER
- Ghost Whisperer
- Gilmore Girls
- Heroes
- Prison Break
- Supernatural
- The Apprentice
I know, I watched too much TV. I guess the fact that I'm willing to admit that I have a problem is something, isn't it?... And what about you? What do you watch?

As you know from my latest post, I won't be watching Strictly Lady Sumo tonight...
I also watch probably 95% of those shows on your list, plus a heap of other Aussie shows. I, too, am a TV addict (that is, when I'm not being a computer / blogging addict, or a bookworm!!).
Hope you are having a great week.
Take care, Meow
I can't believe how many of the same shows we like/liked! I use to love The X-Files, Buffy,
Angel and Charmed...I still miss Buffy!
Heroes and Supernatural are awesome shows...we're also into Lost, Jericho, Smallville, Veronica Mars, and CSI (Vegas), plus I watch Desperate Housewives and ER. We're waiting for Survivor and Amazing Race to come back too...the only reality shows we like.
I'm a tv addict too...one without guilt. I suppose I will watch less tv once I have kids, but until then I'll enjoy the glow of my big screen!!!
I'm actually not a tv addict at all. In fact, I have never owned my own tv and lived for years without one. But I would be an addict if there was ever anything on that I wanted to watch! I can't stand reality tv, or crime shows or hospital dramas... doesn't leave much.
I did really like six feet under when it was on... last year I watched the new series of Dr Who, and Iron Chef (the original, not the crappy American rip-off). So far this year I watch Drawn Together (the cartoon) and...er...that's about it really. The occasional doco or movie, but no real regulars. I get all my news off the net.
Out of your list the only thing I've ever watched is Will and Grace, and even that only a couple of times. We did get told that Heroes is good, when it eventually makes it to Oz I'll give it a go.
When I want mindless veg-out entertainment I re-read my old children's books.
I am right with you. Especially now that we have DVR. It makes TV additction so much more pleasurable.
Check out Grey's Anatomy. I resisted for a long time, but LOVE it. LOVE. Lifetime has started running them on Sunday night from the beginning.
Love.
Okay, I'll fess up. I too am a TV junkie, mostly reality TV though. I'm hooked on the following:
Amazing Race
Survivor
Supernanny
Wife Swap
Apprentice (even though I swore I was giving it up after last season)
When I'm not watching reality shows, it's crime shows:
Law & Order in all its incarnations
Without a Trace
48 Hours
And my guiltiest of guilty pleasures:
Cheaters
Oh yes, and my soap opera:
All My Children
And of course if the Illini game is on I'm watching.
Hey, you have nothing to be ashamed of. I have PURPOSELY watched "I Love New York." (I can't help it. Damn Celebreality!)
kim ayres: That sounds so... interesting... You could laways record it and watch it later.
meow: I know what you mean, I too is either blogging or watching tv. Glad to see I'm not alone!
kim: I miss her too! I'm also waiting for "Survivor" and "Amazing Race", and "Big Brother" (yeah I know...) - Let's all of us, the guilt free ones, come out and claim our addiction!
hasarder: Used to watched "Six Feet Under" really enjoyed it. Interesting that you read your old children's books, never really thought of doing that, except for Tintin and Astérix & Obélix. I still enjoy those.
paisley: I've been tempted by "Grey's Anatomy", maybe I'll do a blitz one weekend... I'm scared to add to my addiction... there's so much more out there.
nif: You didn't put Big Brother, I know you watched it! Never heard of Cheaters... and I also watch "Days of Our Lives"... damn it!
lizgwiz: Hum... never heard of that show either? What is it?
I love Heroes! I am totally addicted. I love Supernatural, ER ( I thought that I was the only one still watching it), CSI, (Not NY), Lost, and Jericho.
I thought that I would go through withdrawl when Buffy and Angel went off the air (deep breaths, in and out), but so far so good. Oh yeah, and both of the Wife Swap shows..Trading Spouses?
I have not seen 'I love New York' yet, but it will be on my viewing list. She grates on my nerves in the worst way, but it's kinda like a train wreck...You just can't turn away....
Im just terrible with TV. I'll think ''Right! i will tidy up!!'' then i just cant be bothered and turn on the tv and watch utter crap like bargain hunt. Its worrying cuz my entire evening can just disappear cuz i start watching something like the Crystal Maze reruns at 6 and dont stop watching til about 1 in the morning...... thankfully that only happens about once a week, tho since the G bought all of the Scrubs seasons, i can easily sit for hours watching episode after episode.
Guilty pleasure - 8 simple rules. I know its cheesy crap, but CJ cracks me up.....
We're more of the DVD types (no cable). I'm worried if we get cable (or worse yet, satellite) I'll never leave the house.
My DVD faves? Mary Tyler Moore (first season, 1970), Golden Girls, Passe-Partout (!)...
And for something of this century, we've just finished all 5 seasons of 6 Feet Under... The finale was just amazing...
I'm guilty too!!!! Especially when it comes to the CSI shows. And now that I have cable again I can watch them pretty much ALL THE TIME!!! ;-)
I am a DH addict. I also recently spent 4 hours straight in front of the tube watching reruns of CSI Miami. Is there a support group? My laundry wants to know.
life or...: I know what you mean about Buffy and Angel... I miss Spike! I have no idea what "I Love NY" is about. I'll have to look it up.
elf: Time fast forward when watching tv - I used to watched "8 Simple Rules" when John Ritter was still alive, after his death I've stopped - don't know why, I just did.
jason67: I love "Golden Girls", maybe I'll borough them someday, if you'll let me! "Six Feet Under" was a great series.
ananke: Cable is great for that, reruns galore! The only CSI I didn't get into is NY, but the others I love.
c_t_w: Maybe we should start a group... we're not DH we're Addicted Housewives! ;-)
I've been watching
Top Chef
Studio 60
24 (by way of Galoot)
Designed to Sell
Sell This House
Design on a Dime
Entourage
Big Love
I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I've also been known to watch Supernanny marathons.
:)
ok, ok...I'm addicted to Days of our Lives too.
...and then I started watching Y&R when the whole murder storyline started and now I'm hooked. I tell myself that I'll give it up once the mystery is solved...but I won't hold my breath!
the shows i "have" to watch:
top chef/project runway/the new design show with todd oldham (these all run on BRAVO)
Ugly Betty
ER
Lost, it's finally coming back!
I used to LOVE X-files and Charmed but the last couple seasons of each show just got ridiculous and too many subplots that never found solutions.
I don't have HBO but I was totally obsessed with Six Feet Under (not the same on bravo) and would get the complete seasons on DVD as soon as they came out and watch them for hours on end.
I don't think I watch much tv until I look at my list.
American Idol
It comes on a zillion times a week, so I guess I watch alot of tv. ;)
pg: I also love those design/house flip shows. You forgot "The Office"! ;-)
kim: I've been watching "Days" since high-school (early 80's), on and off...
p s: The X-Files & Charmed did get a little twisted by the end, but I still watched and loved them! I've been told that Hubby looks like Mulder... yummy! ;-)
shopper: I didn't think I watched that many shows until I made a list... oh well!
