Some type of Spring-cleaning?

I just spent the last hour or so sorting my bookmarks. I used to follow many blogs. Now? Not so much. I don’t know if it’s due to lack of time, lack of interest or simply because. I know some simply took a break, some just disappeared and others are posting randomly. I realise also Bacefook and Rwittet are keeping a lot of old bloggers busy. These social thingy are real time suckers. Plus, some of us actually do have lives; so all this together is giving Blogsville a different colour all together.
I will admit I do miss the excitement of before. I used to love how we’d interact and comment and post regularly. Now, I read people’s status update of Bacefook (where I do spend too much time, playing games). I don’t do the bird thing. Enough already. If I’m not interesting enough to read (on here), then why would you want to know what I’m thinking during the day? Same shit, different time or tool. Nah, that I will not do.

While I was revisiting some blogs, and deleting their bookmarks, it stroked a cord just how much these (you) people were/are part of my life. Today, I was wearing a pair of earrings made by Periwinkle and at dinner he asked if those were from my blend. That’s how much blogging has become part of my life. I’ve made blends, but I also thing I’ve made real friends. I really do care about my “regulars”. Like anything in life, I have my favourites. It just happened.

I will hit my fourth year of blogging in April; it’s been a while, hasn’t it? At times it feels like only yesterday I was starting and other times, it feels like ages ago. I’m still enjoying it, and it is a good place for me to vent and such. I won’t pretend I don’t care if people reads me or not, because I do care. I enjoy having readers. I wish some of you would delurk, but it’s ok, all in good times, right? Who knows what the future holds, but one thing for sure, if you keep reading I’ll keep on posting.

I know I'm one of the guiltiest of the guilty when it comes to bloggin, but I still check your blog daily, my blend. I'll make a concerted effort to get more written words onto the Intertubez. :-)

I did some RSS feed purging a while ago, I finally got rid of all those blogs I don't actually read but were clogging up my feed reader. Unlike many social networkers, I'm much happier with quality than quantity!

Wow, four years of blogging - I can only dream of being around that long. I just started last September. I have found it to be great fun. But I too am guilty of irradic posting. Sometimes life gets in the way of things I want to do. I hate when that happens.

I think it is funny how blogging goes in cycles. I was just thinking how empty my reader is because I haven't been adding a lot of new blogs to it...I guess it means the blogs I have been following for years now, just aren't posting as much...I kind of miss many of them.

I feel as if I've made some real life friends via my blog. I received a picture message on my cell phone from one yesterday and it made my day! I wish you weren't so far away from me IRL. I'd really like to hang out with you!
I go on twitter about every 20 days or so it seems and I mainly read there to keep up with certain bloggers who aren't posting anymore.

I wonder why you haven't "friended" me on Bacebook?

I use my blog name there too! ;)

Hugs!!

My problem, Dr. Blend, is I have too many blogs I enjoy reading. I read the comments and dawdle around composing my own comment, so time just flies away somewhere.

And you, of course, are one of my favorites.

Marius: I know you've been busy, it's all good.

tNb: Quality is always better! :-)

LeeAnn: Don't we all! Life has that habit, doesn't it?! ;-)

kara: I agree and than you.

morethan: I know what you mean, I still miss some, and can't seem to get into new ones.

Meg: Thank you, almost! ;-)

Site Manager: Welcome, and thank you for delurking!

GEM: I've wished the same.

Charlie: I know what you mean, so many hours in a day, right? And I sure hope you DO know you're a favorite of mine - I have a thing for skinny, tall old man! ;-)

I haven't officially abandoned my blog, if you were wondering. Just needed a little break, I guess. FB has siphoned off a little of that "I need to get this off my chest" energy, too, I think. But I'll get back to it eventually, I'm sure. And I'll keep checking in here. :)

It's interesting how things evolve. The interweave has got so many temptations that has had the effect of watering down the intensity of a few years ago. As in the real world it'll be cyclic though .... probably ....... possibly ........well, there's a small chance anyway ....

lizgwiz: I did wonder about that. Thanks for clarifying it. Looking forward to reading you again soon.

Daddy P: You're so wise...the voice of wisdom. ;-)

I'm planning to post again sometime before the month is out. I just haven't decided which month.
