'Cause you don't know me

Back in 2007, when I started this blog I did this post. I'm re-posting it, hoping you'll partake in my little survey.

This is my favorite Maxine quote! I can SOOOO relate to her. and if you're a friend I'm sure you can too!

Would you want a friend who never talks back, enthusiastically digs into whatever leftovers you're serving, and doesn't look better than you in the same outfit? Yes? Well, then you don't want me!!

So far, I've used this blog as a place for me to vent, to say in writing what I think or say under my breath (just like Maxine).

Back then, in 2007, I had many crabby days. I'm thinking I'm having less of them. Maybe I'm wrong in thinking this, or my meds are working way better than I think they are. It doesn't matter. I feel better, and that is a good thing, as Martha would say.

So you think you're crabby? Do you think you have a short fuse? If so, take this quiz (that I made up!) if you want to find out. I'll tell you!

1. You're shopping with a friend, the first thing she does is:
a) Walk in the opposite direction you're going.
b) Stand behind you, looking away, while you give crap to the clerck.
c) Ask you where you want to go next, so she can tell the clerck to leave you alone before you show up.

2. You tell a friend you're going out, she tells you:
a) "You should avoid crowds".
b) "Are you sure you wouldn't rather stay home instead?".
c) "I'll be home this weekend if you need me to post bail".

3. Finish this phrase: I'm sorry...
a) I didn't think you spoke French/English.
b) you didn't move out of my way fast enough.
c) stop wasting my time, I can scream louder than you.

Scoring:
All "a": You're crabby, but you don't need medication yet.
All "b": You're not the most patient one around, quite the "short-fuse".
All "c": Better see your doctor, you might need some pills! You're just like me!

So now you know! Re-reading this "survey", I'm happy to report I am feeling much better than I did back then, even if I still have a very short fuse - I have no tolerance for stupidity - and like Maxine, I speak my mind - I try to filter what and how it does come out, try being the key word here - not always a good thing, I know... By the way, thanks to my friend M. and my husband for having been by my side and remaining there. How many lives they've saved we'll never know... ah!

I'm right there with ya! Several years ago I went through a bad period of real crabbiness. I bit anyone who crossed me. I have absolutely no patience for stupidity and have no problem pointing it out (sometimes loudly). I have tried to tone it down some and hold my tongue as much as possible. I don't want to go into the next phase of my life with people thinking I'm a mean old lady.

I don't know that I'm crabby, but I've never been a patient person. AND I WON'T EVER CHANGE EITHER, DAMMIT!

I always am taken aback by these posts where you say you are crabby. Everything I know about you is so nice and kind and giving. I cannot imagine you with a crabby bone in your body.

I'm the crabbiest of the crabs - but only on the inside. Externally, I'm sweet as pie and would never do any of the things on the quiz. But I sure would think about doing them.

My early posts make me cringe. They just seem so immature to me now. I'm even thinking about deleting them.

Lol at your survey. I might need meds soon!

I'd love to go shopping with you though!

Hugs!!

LeeAnn: Oh, I don't really care what people think, it's more about me wanting to change, or the meds working better... ;-)

Charlie: I'm with you on that one!

Monkey: Oh but I am ALSO kind and giving AND crabby (at times, not always!)

Meg: I think for me it's the opposite, all mushy inside and hard on the outside.

GEM: Don't delete them, it's proof you're evolving.

Shopping is always interesting, I'm told. ah!
