Have you ever reached that point where you just sit there and say to yourself: “I’m too old for this shit”? Today I did. I’ve never really been one who put up with a lot of crap, but in the work context, I tried (tried being the key word here) to be a little more tolerant. I think I’m tolerant in general, but not when it comes to stupidity and/or ignorance. I’m not a patient person. I don’t think I’ll ever be one either. I like things to move around me, I don’t any stagnant feeling or attitude. I’m often the one saying things like: “Come on, chop, chop!” or “Today would be nice!” Yes, that can be irritating. You must admit, though, having to deal with someone who has one speed, which isn’t fast, is not easy either.
One of my clients deals in the construction industry. What a mess that is. I knew there were a lot of conspicuous matters of sorts, but I had no idea how deep and high it really was piled. I’ve made many phone calls, spoke with different type of persons and in the hung up the phone with only a thought in mind: “I’m too old for this shit!”
I’ve actually spoke with my client and informed him that due to the complication level of his industry I would not be doing the work he wanted me to do for him. Tonight at dinner, I’ve told my business partner (read Hubby) about my decision. He supported me. We had what we earnestly call our “Bitch Session for the Day” and proceeded with our evening. I was pleased that today my body talked to me with a potty mouth…and I listened, go figure!

I'm 60 and I can assure you I'm too old for this shit. However, one reaches a point where you have seen it all before and it becomes the "same old shit". If you can shrug it off rather than "go postal", that goes in the Win column. Hang in there (though I really do hate that phrase)
Life's too short to stuff tomatoes ...
There are a lot of things I'm too old for too!
I'm happy you listened to your body!
Hugs!!
I applaud your decision: Life is too short for shit (philosophical, aren't I. There are more fish in the pond, and something less stressful will come along.
