So many years, so little time

Yesterday I had a lunch date with a friend.  A friend I had not seen in over twenty-six years.  You read right; twenty-six years.  Yes, I am old.  Or at least felt like it when the waitress leading us to our table turned around to say: "I wasn't even alive 26 years ago!" when my friend mentioned how long it had been...  Ouch!

We found each other grace à Bacefook.  Since I was at a client in her town, I asked her if she wanted to do lunch, for old time sakes.  She did.  It was fun to see her, she hasn't changed.  We tried to catch up quickly, after all I was only on lunch, billable time away from my client. After the ackward moment at first, we went on as if those past years weren't that many.  It was a pleasant encounter; one we promised to redo soon.

It's stories like this one that keep me on Bacefook despite its bazillion annoyances.

That's great that you were able to catch up. I love those types of reunions where you pick up your friendship right where you left off.

I know the thrill of meeting up with a friend you never thought you would see again. And like you, the years dropped away. it was like discovering a long lost treasure, making it doubly precious.

Cool. I found my 6th grade girlfriend on FaceBook. Then she pulled her profile - not because of me (I don't think).

Sounds like it was fun to reunite with your friend. I found a friend I hadn't seen in ten years, I found her on google. It has been fun to be in touch with her again too.
