Bitting my tongue not to bite any head off...

If you live around here you do know about our roads conditions and how bad it is.  Sunday we hit a new low, a BIG piece of the Ville-Marie Tunnel fell off.  Luckily there was nobody injured.  This is not the first time a piece of concrete falls, the previous time some people died.  This is within a three minutes walk from our place... check this out, I'll wait...

Crazy, huh?  And yet, our officials... argh, I'm not even going there, it's useless.

If you come to Montreal anytime soon, don't be surprise if you see one of these panels, because if the authorities were being truthful, these would also be on our lovely roads... ah well...

In other news, Sunday we visited Hubby's dad.  We had not been inside the family house for at least three and a half years... Wow!  That's all I have to say about how little remain of the house Hubby lived in...  I recognised one (that's right, one) piece of furniture. It was a bit overwhelming.  I have to say the new woman has done a good job, the renovations and all are nice.  It's a nice revamp.  For any of you who's been to that house, I'm sure you remember how many pictures of Hubby were on the walls, especially going up the stairs to the TV room... You see, Hubby is the only child of a woman who loooovvvveeeeeed her son, especially as a kid.  When he discovered girls it went all sour (teehee).  Some of these pictures were very cute, especially one of Hubby in a diaper looking like a little chicken, I loved that picture.  I had asked his mother if I could borrow it to scan it and she had refused (that was during the days...). Hubby has a lot of pictures, but he doesn't have any of himself as a baby or kid.  Since I did a whole scrapbook album of myself growing up, I thought I could amuse myself and make one of him as well.  I had asked his father about these pictures, which were 8 x 10, not little album sizes photos, and his answer was always somewhat vague.

When they painted the house, all of the pictures were put in boxes.  It was time for a change.  When I asked again about the pictures, I got the most stupid answer one could get; his father took all boxes (with the pictures and other stuff) to the Salvation Army!  Yep!  He is THAT stupid.  I still can not believe it.  I'm furious.

Our city government wants to build a deep bore tunnel to replace an old viaduct that was damaged in the Nisqually earthquake. The fact that they haven't been able to fully repair the viaduct in ten years doesn't give me a lot of confidence in their ability to build a tunnel that won't kill people.

Your father=in-law is so unkind to his son and to you. That is really a sad story. I hope you find those pictures.

My wife's first husband decided to "clear out the garage" while they were in the process of divorcing. He threw out all her old photographs, childhood mementos and other things she had accumulated over her childhood. It was a pretty heartless/thoughtless thing to do.

flurrious: It makes you wonder at times, doesn't it?

Michele: It wasn't done recently, I've been thinking of going and see... in case...

ATM: Ridiculous, isn't it?

TechnoBabe: I have my doubts. It is sad and so, but so stupid.

J in CH: Shocking, indeed. I could have smacked him!

Robert: Heartless, indeed and so full of spite... one wonders at times.
