The last few days were painful ones. I’m feeling better now, thanks to the magic of my osteo. Hubby drove me there yesterday morning, and even if the pain was already a bit less than on Monday, the treatment helped. By the time I walked out of there, I could already feel the difference.
I managed to slip a disk… It’s so stupid and embarrassing! It ‘s not doing anything kinky (I wish!), or lifting something heavy, nope… Supposedly it’s fairly common in people our age and often it’s even turns out to be a herniated disk. Hopefully I didn’t that much damage. I’ve been icing, which is a whole new experience! I’m used to icing my knee, I’ve been doing that years, but my back, not so much! I must say once frozen the pain is really less, and that’s worth the 15 minutes of discomfort.
Hubby, as usual, has been great through this. He’s so helpful and loving. At times, I don’t feel worthy. He’s such a good man. He’s been cooking, driving, shopping, setting me up for icing; I love him!
Last night he said something that made me think that he might be on to something… He said: “Looks like our muscles are stronger than your bones”. He’s right. A few years back I cracked a rib coughing. No joke, I had a bad cough (bronchitis) and managed to crack a rib during a coughing fit. I could hardly breath, not good when you’re coughing non-stop. I also broke both wrists, my big right toe, badly, in karate, which was my only broken bone, luckily enough. And now this…
Maybe I should get a density bone test soon… I think I’ll mention it to my quack next time I see him. If I’m like this now, I can only imagine how it will be when I’ll become that frail, old lady… yeah ok, let’s go with that…

woah, sorry to hear that you are in some pain there. back pain is no fun at all.
you should definitely have a bone density test and see what's up with that.
it's just so much fun getting older (not).
hope you are mended soon.
Hubby keeps putting icing on you? I thought you said it wasn't anything kinky? ;-)
Feel better soon.
Oh, I feel your pain! I hope it's completely better soon. When I messed up my back and then got sciatica a while back, the doctor just kind of laughed and said, "welcome to your 40s." Argh!
You broke a rib coughing? That's harsh.
I hope you feel better soon!!! Back pain is awful.
princess: Thanks, I'm doing better. At least I can move without pain!
marius: Thanks you naughty man! ;-)
lizgwiz: I've been going down hill since I turned 30 for sure... Doing much better already!
paisley: I did, seriously! A friend did that also while she was pregnant, and I found out today that a blend did as well, not so uncommon after all. Thanks!
Ouch, I've hurt my back in the past and I know it's no fun. You just can't get comfortable. Hope the pain subsides very soon.
ananke: Thanks!
With all that icing, won't that make the disk more slippery?
[Bah dum bump bump]
brave a: Don't quit your day job, hee. ;-)
