The first box of goodies came in this morning! Tammie had written me on Saturday (the 26th) to check my mail and could barely believe it this morning when I saw the mailman with this box. That was fast!
As Tammie nicely wrote: “goodies included both fond childhood memories and mid-life crisis savers”. So true. It felt like Christmas morning or something. The smell and seeing all these goodies was so exciting!
Here’s the content of said box:
Can you smell it? This is one of those occasions where smell-o-rama would be so good to have!
Looking at those things brought back so many memories… I used to love those candy necklaces, the sensation of the Pop Rocks popping on my tongue, and playing with a favourite Pez head… I’m also discovering new things, like “Sugar Babies”, “Boston Baked Beans” ,“Charleston Chew” and “Bit-O-Honey”. This is so much fun!
Thank you Tammie for everything, which was A LOT, too much to be honest!! Looking at these is yet another proof that we do have lots in common and what better way to find that out than through sweets!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You are most welcome, m'Dear. I'm STILL addicted to Pez and candy necklaces. Just don't hold me responsible for any sugar shock!
Oh I love Boston Baked Beans! That was so nice of her to send you all that.
Oh, that loooooks goooooood :)
ohmigod...pop rocks! don't chase them down with coke, remember? that's how people's innards explode.
ha..ha.ha.. shoestring potatoes! That's too funny. Also makes me think of the Capp Hot Fries (from Andy Cap) remember those?
This is very helpful! Now I know what to put in my box. It's in the mail, I swear! Really.
OK, now I have package envy. I'm going to have to put a little more in my parcel for you. ;-)
tammie: Good thing I went for blood test last week! ;-) Thanks again!
season: Never seen those before, thus perfect for this "exchange".
drowsey: and the smell is really sweeeeet too! :-)
kara: I remember that! (now that you mention it...)
pinkppaws: I'll have to google those Capp Hot Fries... hmmm...
brave a: Mine is! >:-}
marisu: Please don't! And remember thou shall not covet...
oh yea, my package is going to be very small compared to that one. my seven year old is in love with pop rocks but my four year old is afraid to eat them.
can't wait to see what else you get.
I've got a few more things to buy and then mine will be on the way! :-D
Yum! What a wonderful box of goodies you received! :) I haven't had Boston Baked Beans in such a loooong time....now I am drooling for some! Can I come over and eat your candy? lol jk. :)
Are there any candy cigarettes in there? It's the only kind I am allowed to have now. Dammit.
Oh my gosh, you really lucked out!! I gained 5 pounds just looking at it!! :) Hugs!!
princess: Makes two of us! ;-)
annake: Not too much, please!
periwinkle: Never had those... yet! Come on over anytime, you'd be welcome here, for sure! ;-)
christina: Not in that box. Maybe in one to come, who knows? ;-)
traceyt: Imagine me, after!
My box went out yesterday. I did the same thing--silly things from my childhood, stuff I like now. Plus a couple of things that are sort of typically "southern." Hope you like it!
Great stuff. I still love Bit o Honey. I bought some awhile back and was tempted not to share.
lizgwiz: Yours will most likely go out next week...
simplypink: Good eyes! I just discovered those and me likey! ;-)
I sent my box today. My wife made an excellent suggestion, and I think you'll be able to tell which item it is. :-)
I have just finished constructing my package of snacky goodness! I will get down to the post office on Monday and post it!
