We did it, again!

We manage to do everything we were supposed to, and then some! Thursday morning I called the management of “Juste pour rire” and they, without any argument, agreed to exchange our tickets to Benigni’s show for a gala in July. I was happy about that, especially since they were so receptive and willing to exchange our tickets.

Later on that morning, I help one of our condo administrators to shovel four tons of river rocks. Since a part of the backyard is very shady it was decided to cover the area with rocks, and since the rocks had been delivered I decided to help. It took us less than two hours. In doing so, I think I re-slipped a disk in my back. I could feel a twinge every so often, but by the time of the Relay, I was feeling a little more than just a twinge…

We were blessed with a beautiful night on Friday, just cool enough, to make it pleasant & refreshing. We spent it in Maisonneuve Park, which is a beautiful green retreat in the heart of Montreal. We set up camp, got everything and everyone organized and by the time the Survivors were starting to walk we, Hubby and I, had to run to make it on time to catch Cirque du Soleil’s Ovo. What a show that was! We’ve seen many of their shows, and this one is among their bests. If they come to your area, go see it, you won’t be disappointed. Thankfully there was a 30 min. interlude that gave us time to catch up with our friends a little, because right after the show we ran back to the Relay and started to walk.

VIGILANT, our team was made up of 10 people this year, plus 2 survivors. The designated area for tents was full of colors and proudly displaying each team’s colors. We walked by set of 2 or 3 at the time. One team member, FB Hubby’s uncle, walked the 12 hours, mostly by himself. His way of mourning his wife who passed away 10 months ago…

Because of your generosity, we, VIGILANT, managed to raise $7,873.61 plus we sold 79 luminaries for a grand total of $8,268.61! Our team even finished the fundraiser in 6th place among the 87+ teams participating at Montreal-Center Relay for Life. FB Hubby raise $585 and I, because of you, managed to raise $3,361.51! Special thanks to Monkey, Marius, Tammie, Charlie, Periwinkle, Princess, Brave Astronaut and Greenduckies – you guys rock!

This year again, was a great experience, and this because of people like you! Thank you!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go ice my back, again...

That's a lot of money in bad economic times--congratulations.

And I could've told you about your back before you even started--Martha does stuff like that all the time.

Get well soon.

Oh, that is fantastic! Obviously I am referring to the money you raised, not your back. The back is horrible. Hope the ice helped. I would offer to recommend you to my chiropractor but probably a long way to drive.
