Little Giveaway! Who doesn't enjoy a free gift?!

Since I have this strange suspicion nobody wants to participate in Santa Paws this year, I've decided to do a little (key word here: LITTLE) draw.  Why?  Because I love to give!

So, if you want to partake in this, simple leave me ONE comment (per person) telling me what you love about getting older... Is is because you're enjoying the wisdom you've acquire thus far? Is it because your laugh lines are proofs of a good life?  Is it because you feel more free to speak your mind?  What is is, I want to know?

This is open to everyone, and the winner will be chosen randomly by my cute husband's hand.

The deadline is Nov. 23rd (midnight, my time, Eastern time) - so come back next week, Wed., and you'll know who the lucky winner will be.

Can't wait to read your reasons.  Good luck!

I love getting older because I can sit back and watch all the youthful drama in which my students are embroiled and chuckle at my no-longer-there status.

I will never go back to 21, I was too poor! Older I get, bigger are my RRSP!

LadyLaLa: Welcome to my world! That sure is a great reason to enjoy getting older! Good Luck!

Marius: lol, true but I'm also realising that youthful drama turns in senior drama... 8-0 Good luck!

Anonymous: That's great, but you didn't leave your name! :-(

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I really have to get my butt back in front of the pc and start blogging on a regular basis again.
What do I love about getting older?? The best part, right now, is that (apparently) I am old enough to be a grandma to my very 1st grandchild.

Getting older- a greater sense of calm in all things

While I miss some of the things from my youth (not being diabetic for one), I love that I can be as goofy as I want and people accept me as eccentric instead of rejecting me as a freak like they did in high school. Those kids really missed out on an awesome person!

I like how much more I know than I did when I was younger--and thought I knew everything!

Now if only I could have all this wisdom in my 25-year-old body. ;)

The funny thing (I can't ever just answer a question short and to the point) is I have dreaded getting older. I just turned 40 and I spent most of 39 mourning the fact I was going to be 40 and missing out on being 39. I turned 40 and realized it feels no different than any other age what changed was my mindset.

I love being old enough to not care anymore what anyone thinks of me, to go to dinner alone and enjoy my own company. To know that the drama of youth is behind me and I can do what I want, when I want, with whoever I want... You get the idea.

The best part of getting older, is the freedom. (Very verbose for a one word answer, huh? LOL)

another thing I like about getting older is Canadian Kit Kats. Unrelated? I do not agree!

Biddie: Congrats on being a grandma! That must be one great thing about getting older for sure!

Robert: Yeah, ok! Good one!

Monkey: Calm is always welcome, and Kit Kats too! ;-)

Greenduckies: They sure did!!

lizwiz: Don't we all wish the same thing? I know it would be dangerous if that was the case! ;-)

Michele: Freedom sure is welcome!

Paquette: Hé, hé! ;-)

I debated long and hard about whether to comment on this. I think my issue was trying to find something good about growing old.

But I think if you had to pin me down, one thing that I love about being older is that now that I am a father, I can impart my "wisdom" to my children.

Whether they heed it is a different story altogether :)

Ok, this is bad. I'm no longer afraid of farting in my sleep and embarassing myself in front of my partner. LOL

knowing that life is short, so the time I have left IM not wasting, laughing more, stressing less, and living life to the fullest :)

Brave A: Being a parent seems like a good thing to me, if one chose to be one, of course!

ATM: You know what's worst? I don't think I ever was!! :-o

Cinner: lol, that's one good reason for sure! (not the rolling part, the being at ease!)

halloween: Welcome to my world! Those are all things/actions we should learn early in life, and yet we often learn them with age...

As much as I've dreaded (and still somewhat dread) getting older, I have to say that the calm and acceptance that has come with age is definitely worth it. Since I turned 30 three years ago, I've spent less and less time caring what other people think of me & more time caring about what I want and need. I also feel much happier about who I am -- and if other people don't like me, then they can just suck it! :)

Comebacknikki: Ah, imagine when you'll be my age you'll be so care free it will be amazing! Good for you!

Getting older for me is getting better. Better listener. Better lover. Better sleeper. Better writer. Better friend.

TechnoBabe: Better all around, just like wine, better with age! ;-)
