Brewing Tea...

Does tea count in the food title thing, or it's really more just a beverage?

I’ve been brewing a post for the last few days, because of something I’ve been reading around Blogsville. It touched me and at the same time pissed me off, but I don’t really know how to deal with it, so I’m letting it brew… I think I’m starting to get wiser in my old…er age.

I’ve found out today that there will be fireworks (again) on Wednesday night. This time it will Canada. I just might have to go to see what we’ll show. I’m wondering if they’re starting the Wednesday night this week, because it is, after all, the “construction holidays” (yep, all construction workers go away for two weeks, as well as a boat load of other people, because those two weeks are dead around here)? This means that Wednesday night we must be home before 7:30 pm otherwise it has to be after midnight. On a weeknight that’s a bit late to come home. It’s fun and all the fireworks, but for those of us living near the Old Montréal it’s not that practical because they close all streets leading to Jacques-Cartier Bridge (one of the main bridge leading to the South Shore of Montréal), as well as the Ville-Marie Tunnel, AND our street, because we are one of the last one leading to Old Montréal. Oh joy! In a way it’s a good thing it’s on now, since many people left town, so hopefully less cars around for the fireworks. Yeah, let’s go with that!

Today I was working at a client, or so I thought. I got there, booted the pc and waited. Did some copies, sort through my papers, and waited some more. I waited 25 minutes, before the screen to log on the software came up. This is the second time I go to this client, and leave within the hour. I can’t work like this. I packed up all their documents, turned off the pc, told the manager I was going home, where my pc was faster and working properly. I came home, changed to my shorts and worked away. Tomorrow I’ll bring them back everything. Tonight, Hubby and I agreed that from now on, I would bring my laptop to this client, because they obviously can’t supply me with a decent computer. The only thing I’m not to excited about, besides having to carry my laptop around, is the fact that another one of my client doesn’t run the same version of the software (they’re a few version back), and I use my laptop to do, but if I start bringing it to this other client, then I must be up to date… I can’t run two different versions of the same software on my laptop (I know I could, Hubby, but I’m not converting to Linux!). So I’ll have to update my other client, and they won’t be too happy about that. Oh well. Somebody has to be upset, rather them than me! Hee.

I’m leaving you with this summer shot…

Sort of give a new meaning to the terms:

Low Rider,
High Tide, and
Full Moon!
Not to mention: Crack Kills!

I will never understand why people won't update their software. Back at the high school we had this very handy grading program, but the version on my computer in my room(which had no printer)was the more recent one, and when I went to print out grade sheets on the office machine it had the older version and wouldn't play. I was about to upgrade it when I figured I'd better check with 'the old man'. Sure enough he didn't want to upgrade lest he have to relearn anything. From what I could see the differences were very minor. Sheesh!

And you have me intrigued by this mystery post which still steeps in your brain.

LINUX is evil!!! ha.ha.ha.. okay, maybe not so evil, but still... Wowzers, nothing like old software to keep you hopping. Running Windows 98? no kidding? :)

Me? I have the opposite problem lately. I have Loan Officers buying Office 2007 and the company uses 2003. Uhhh... 2003 won't open 2007 docs.. sigh....sometimes I HATE Microsoft!

It never ceases to amaze when when clients / employers / whatever the situation demand action with subpar materials. They hired you, so one would expect they should provide the best to the best, yes?

You could always threaten to send Jet-Ski man their way . . .

This is the first time I've ever felt sorry for a jet ski. Poor poor jet ski.

marius: A lot of people don't like change, in any form, size, etc. It's still brewing... :-)

pinkpiddypaws: My husband hates Microsoft deeply, and I'm the only one who has Windows, because I don't do Linux. He swears by it. But he's a geek!

lizgwiz: Sorry about that!

Have I've got a picture to show you! I'll convo it to you via Etsy! Remember the song, "Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro...can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow..?" Think of that when you look at the pic!
